Kayi (the Eye)

"These creatures consist of a large gas bag and a huge, single, bulging eye. They prefer to hang high in the air in dark corners and drop their thing, fibrous tentacle nets down upon passersby. These nets then drain away the victim's life. If quickly cut away by some other character, however, they inflict injury without draining life - though the Káyi can continue to fight. They can be brought down by flaming arrows, but they usually remain out of reach of swords and other hand weapons (though they can be reached by a spear, pike, or halberd)."
